last night instead of finishing up my final take home exam i watched dune.
for those of us not in the know it is the movie where sting tries to sex-knife agent cooper but agent cooper sex-knifes him instead and makes it rain

"In 1975, Jodorowsky planned to film the story as a ten hour feature, in collaboration with Salvador Dali, Orson Welles, Gloria Swanson, David Carradine, Geraldine Chaplin, Alain Delon, Hervé Villechaize and Mick Jagger. The music would be composed by Magma, Henry Cow and Karlheinz Stockhausen or Pink Floyd. Jodorowsky set up a pre-production unit in Paris consisting of Chris Foss, a British artist who designed covers for science fiction periodicals, Jean Giraud (Moebius), a French illustrator who created and also wrote and drew for Metal Hurlant magazine, and H. R. Giger. Moebius began designing creatures and characters for the film, while Foss was brought in to design the film's space ships and hardware. Giger began designing the Harkonnen Castle based on Moebius' storyboards, and Dali was cast as the Emperor with a reported salary of $100,000 an hour. Jodorowsky's son Brontis Jodorowsky was to play Paul Atreides. Dan O'Bannon was to head the special effects department.

Dali and Jodorowsky began quarreling over money, and just as the storyboards, designs, and script were finished, the financial backing dried up. Frank Herbert travelled to Europe in 1976 to find that $2 million of the $9.5 million budget had already been spent in pre-production, and that Jodorowsky's script would result in a 14-hour movie ("It was the size of a phonebook", Herbert later recalled). Jodorowsky took creative liberties with the source material, but Herbert said that he and Jodorowsky had an amicable relationship."

in the past two weeks every time i have slept i keep having really cinematic nightmares

EVERY NAP, EVERY NIGHT, EVERY TIME I GO BACK TO SLEEP

1.running away from something, then stumbled into a massive antique furniture/human store. people were buying other humans to put their minds into so they could escape something they weren't fond of in their current lives.

there was also a lot of other stuff that didn't make sense, but it ended with a fat chick with pink hair choosing to die so the rest of the people in the store could live. they braided her hair into a mass of ropes and then burned her alive.

2. yesterday
a lot of psychobabble, exciting car chase, kicking ass with sub-machine guns, only to find a charred, dying stump of a corpse on my drive way with his skull half sticking out, begging me to finish him off.

3. walking a bridge with nails driving into the bottom of my feet. someone abandons a kid ahead of me, and i walk the rest of the bridge holding the damn thing while the added weight pushes my feet deeper into nails.

4. i come in to the lab to run an experiment, my fish dies, gets eaten by a giant slimy lizard who fills up the entire experimental tank with goo before moving onto all of my other fish and eating them.

5. in a crowded metro, trying to take out a crazy transdimensional shape shifter that NOBODY NOTICES EXCEPT ME
